  ISCAR’S Upgrades for Parting

ISCAR has developed a new family of reinforced TANG-GRIP blades for the popular TRAUB (TNL and TNK models) and INDEX (MS18C model) turn/mill machines.
These blades, due to their reinforced construction, can be used in long overhang. Only the part of the blade required for penetration (cutting depth) has a reduced width. The rest is thick, which provides improved rigidity and stiffness.
These blades are an excellent solution for parting and grooving between the main and sub-spindle of turn/mill machines.
The single-ended insert has a very rigid clamping and therefore provides a very substantial advantage over any other system.

Further additions to ISCAR’s GRIP family are DO-GRIP inserts made from the new SUMO TEC carbide grades: IC807 IC808 and IC830.
The new SUMO TEC grades significantly extend insert life, due to the most advanced coating technology followed by a special surface treatment. This also provides improved tool life due to low surface stress and an evenly coated top surface. The even surface contributes to smooth uninterrupted chip flow, less generated heat and less friction. The new process improves toughness and chipping resistance and thus reduces friction and built-up edge. This in turn increases and prolongs tool life at increased machining conditions for all types of workpiece materials.
The new PVD process is composed of ISCAR’s AL-TEC coating technology, utilizing the unique surface treatment.
